Sponsoring capacity
Deposit prepaid capacity that agents draw on, and earn each time it is used.
Requests are served from sponsored capacity. A sponsor deposits USDG into a capacity position. When an agent request is served from that position, the position is drawn down by the provider cost, and the sponsor is credited the provider cost plus the sponsors' share of the protocol fee (40% in the sandbox).
How positions work
- Open to anyone. Deposit from the Sponsor capacity page. The minimum deposit is 1 USDG.
- Which position serves a request. The position with the most remaining capacity that can cover the request.
- Earnings. Credited to the position owner's USDG balance at the moment each request settles. The position shows how much has been drawn and earned.
- Withdraw. Unused capacity can be withdrawn at any time.
- Transfer. Send a position to another 0x address. Its remaining capacity and future earnings go with it.
When capacity runs out
If no position has enough room for a request, the endpoint returns 503 with type capacity_exhausted and the agent is not charged. Sponsored capacity is the supply side of the network: it only earns when agents use it.
In the sandbox, providers do not receive payouts; the provider cost is returned to the sponsor along with its fee share. How provider payment works onchain will be specified with the contracts.
