Protocol
Governance
Stakers vote on fee, share, tier and bond parameters.
Protocol parameters are changed by stake-weighted vote. In the sandbox this runs on the Governance page of the app.
How a proposal works
- An account at Tier 1 or above proposes a new value for one parameter, with a short reason.
- Any account with stake can vote yes or no once. Its weight is its stake at the time of voting.
- Voting stays open for the voting window (600 seconds in the sandbox).
- A proposal passes when yes outweighs no and total votes reach quorum (1,000 INFER in the sandbox). A passed proposal takes effect immediately.
Governable parameters
| Parameter | Sandbox value |
|---|---|
| Protocol fee on provider cost | 10% |
| Fee share to stakers | 50% |
| Fee share to capacity sponsors | 40% |
| Epoch length | 1 hour |
| Tier 1 / 2 / 3 stake | 1,000 / 10,000 / 100,000 INFER |
| Tier 1 / 2 / 3 discount | 5% / 10% / 20% |
| Minimum provider bond | 5,000 INFER |
The voting window and quorum are fixed in the sandbox and cannot be changed by proposal. Staker and sponsor shares together cannot exceed 100%; the treasury gets the rest. Epochs cannot be shorter than 60 seconds.
The whitepaper also puts routing under governance. Routing rules are not governable in the sandbox yet.
